Build your cone, from 5 to 13.23 cm, with the paper of your choice.
A patented 10-point system, compatible with any paper length or width (pre-cut 5 or 11 cm, gummed, roll, etc.) up to 13.23 cm. Endless possible formats. Move the slider, pick a preset, compare the silhouettes — you're bound to find the format that's right for you.
Five formats, to give you your bearings.
Three variables define a format: the paper length, the tip width and the amount of material.
To get started, I saved five reference points I've achieved again and again — measured and weighed each time. Two pre-cut paper lengths: 5 cm (“Mini Batte”) and 11 cm (“Classic Batte”), both with a 6 mm tip. For the Classic Batte, I also tested a version loaded with more material (“Loaded Batte”) — with a 7 mm tip, because the Roller's flexible rods spread apart to widen the cone and take in more material. Same principle for the maximum length of 13.23 cm: a standard “King Size Batte” (6 mm) and a “Maxi Batte” loaded further (7 mm, amount pushed to the max).
Getting your dose right
The amounts shown were tested with a neutral, fairly dry material. Yours may vary — adjust gradually: if you really overload it, the rods reach their limit and the paper can tear.
⚠️ For the loaded formats, remember to spread and pack your material well with the Large Tamper before rolling — it makes all the difference.
These are starting points: the simulator opens up all the others.
| Format | Paper length | Tip | Material (volume) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mini Batte | 5 cm | 6 mm | 0.75 |
| Classic Batte | 11 cm | 6 mm | 1 |
| Loaded Batte | 11 cm | 7 mm | 1.5 |
| King Size Batte | 13.23 cm | 6 mm | 1.75 |
| Maxi Batte | 13.23 cm | 7 mm | 2.75 |
The “volume” is an internal unit — the simulator converts it to grams for you.
Compose your cone live.
Pick a preset format, compare them, move a slider: the silhouette redraws, and to guide you, the two markers for the paper length and the tip size appear on the gauge. All that's left is to dose your material using the indicative data the tool gives you.
One unique method to remove all the excess. Up to 30% less paper.
From the Mini to the Maxi Batte, the “French method” by DdO lets you keep only the paper you need before shaping the cone — like the “Dutch method”, but here everything happens up front. A third less paper means a smoother draw and a purer taste, for every preparation.
