The Roller→

This is the heart of the patented invention: the shell, its flexible rods and its screws form an inseparable whole, completed by the tongue (covered further below). Same mechanism as the Original, same capabilities, same method — plus three built-in additions for comfort: Support Clamp, pusher, and magnets, covered just below. And for purists, the "French method": a precise cut of the paper, with no excess (detailed in the How-to-Use guide).

A practical detail: at the center of the base, a maintenance hole makes it easy to clear out any leftover crumbs. Once the tongue is inserted, it closes back up.

The Support Clamp→

The Support Clamp keeps the paper from riding up during preparation — built directly into the Roller, it clamps in one motion, with no separate tool. It seems minor at first glance; yet it's the testers' favorite — and mine too. A comfort touch for a very simple motion. It's actually the first piece requested and invented when moving from the Original to the Premium.

It also hides an invention within the invention: when the lid closes, it releases on its own, with a simple press. A small click confirms it — the Roller is properly closed, the paper released. Before this system, you could forget to release the clamp and the paper would stay stuck. Not anymore. Over a month of work and dozens of trials to get this natural feel.

The whole thing is actually a combination of four pieces. To see them work together, a see-through scene in the King Size animation, on the How-to-Use page, shows what happens on the inside as it closes — the only way to see it with your own eyes.

The Pusher→

The Pusher solves a real puzzle: the Roller rolls so cleanly that the cone comes out wedged between the four bottom rods — impossible to grab by hand. With the Original, there's the workaround, shown in the animation: turn a gear screw a quarter turn to free the cone via one rod. It works, but it's a makeshift fix.

So I invented a complete, more elegant solution: a system that pushes the cone from underneath, on the tip side, and lifts it out. Like the Support Clamp, it's a combination of four pieces — plus a spring that brings the Pusher back to its resting position, so it never gets in the way of the rods. Nearly two months of research and dozens of trials: the piece traveled all over the Roller before finding its place.

The Humidifier→

Under this cap — designed to be as airtight as possible — sits an oval sponge cut to fit it exactly. Dampened a little ahead of time, it's used to moisten the paper right before closing, just before you turn the gear.

For anyone who knows how to dose it, it's a real comfort feature — several of my testers use it every time. And when several people share the same Roller, roommates for example, it really comes into its own: each person moistens their own paper right before turning the gear. Remember to re-dampen the sponge from time to time, especially if the cap has been left open to the air.

The 2 Tongues→

The tongue is the key piece. And everything is in its lines. Inserted into the Roller — flush against it, top edge horizontal — it gives you the perfect angle. This is where the first of the only two rules you need to know applies: place the sticky edge of the paper, sticky side up, parallel to the lines. Once that alignment is respected, the paper always sits at the right angle, and the sticky part seals the cone perfectly. Second function, a practical one: once inserted, the tongue seals the maintenance hole in the base — open to clear out crumbs, closed for rolling.

And the third: the second tongue acts as a small scoop for pouring your preparation into the Roller — prepared to the side, scooped up in one go, and set to the right length (and with the Premium Max Box, it pairs beautifully with the container-lid). Having two also means always having the right angle at hand — and for roommates, one each.

The Storage Box→

The Storage Box is the case's free space: use it to keep whatever you need for your preparation. And it has another talent: its notch clips perfectly with the Roller's handle, holding it upright, nice and straight — a stable display. A comfort piece that finishes the object.

6 replacement gear screws→

On my end, everything comes apart: screws, rods — every piece can be removed, washed, replaced. That's intentional: the best materials, zero planned obsolescence, a Roller designed to last for years — swap the rods or screws every now and then, and you're good to go.

The screws are the small parts working with every rotation. At my request, my testers pushed them hard — deliberately rough handling, tough conditions — to find the breaking point. So rather than wait: a set of 6 new screws, included with every box. A bit more plastic and print time for me, zero bad surprises for you.

The Learning Kit→

A roll of 4 meters of learning paper, designed for one thing: giving you permission to mess up. The first few tries can be surprising — the Roller is a bit counter-intuitive: everyone's instinct is to place the paper in the middle and the material in the center… which is exactly what you shouldn't do. A few tries and you'll get the hang of it: 90% of mistakes come from poor paper placement — the corner, the alignment — or too much material, or material that isn't packed well. And most importantly: if it goes wrong at the start, it's not your own paper wasted — the first four meters are on me. After that, your best ones are all yours.
